Signal NVRs can be used as stand-alone central units of small video monitoring systems, or can be elements of large systems. The affordable price and a number of specialized functions make it perfect tool for protecting industrial plants, warehouses, commercial buildings, companies.
Ultimax 21xx
Ultimax devices combine the latest technologies based on real-time operating system (Linux RTOS) and the most efficient compressing algorithms for video and sound. H.264 is currently the most popular video compression method. Compared to other popular algorithms - MJPEG and MPEG-4 - it can save up to 50% of disk space. In addition - it is especially important when working on the Internet - the transmission of the same amount of data generates significantly less network traffic. Thanks to the support of two video streams+, the surveillance video can be watched on smartphones running Windows Mobile/Android/ IOS (using CCTV Mobile app), or on PCs (using IVMS-4000, or IVMS-4200 app), in both cases even via networks with low or moderate data rates. Depending on the needs, the user can choose a 4, 8, or 16-channel model.

Ultimax DVRs have many functions that are not available in other devices on the market, especially together:
  • Monitoring and synchronous playback of 2 channels
  • Shortcuts in OSD menu - OSD buttons showing after clicking on individual camera/channel allow for direct control of its functions such as manual recording, playback, video settings
  • Support for two video streams
  • Holiday recording schedule - up to 32 periods without recording - e.g. in industrial plants there is no need for recording video from inactive sites
  • S.M.A.R.T. hard disk monitoring
  • Reverse playback
  • SMART Search - allows for finding moments with movement in a defined area of an image in order to analyze vital events
  • Tags - some parts of the recording can be marked to quickly find them in the future; they can also be protected against overwriting
  • DDNS - Hikvision offers free DDNS server, eliminating costs connected with pay services like DynDns
  • Channel Zero - setting the limit for the bandwidth and frame rate of the video stream transmitted over the network and accessible via Internet browsers
  • LAN log and statistics - this diagnostic tool can check connectivity status and network parameters

NAT settings
DVRs connected to the Internet are hots with specific IP addresses, an example is 62.121.130.38. It would be difficult to remember a number of such numeric strings, so they are translated from human-friendly computer host names by Domain Name System (DNS). A DVR gets its host name - a much "natural" form of address. DDNS means Dynamic DNS, which allows for using fixed domain names in the case of IP addresses being assigned dynamically. The function is necessary when the ISP cannot provide fixed IP addresses, or such option is too expensive.

Ultimax DVRs support the following services:
  • hkDDNS,
  • NO-IP,
  • PeanutHull,
  • DynDns,
  • IPServer.
Choosing e.g. the hkDDNS service, the administrator has to create a user account at www.hik-online.com and enter into appropriate boxes of the configuration window: user name, password, domain name (host name of the DVR).
