Sat IF/IF Converter (Processor) UC-222 - ALCAD

SAT IF/IF Converter: Alcad UC-221 (1-in)
View of the converter

Application Converters (or processors) of satellite IF change the frequencies of particular received transponders and compensate differences in their levels. The ultimate frequencies still lie within the first IF range, i.e. the band of LNB output. IF/IF converter allows to choose desired program that has been intended for distribution, which can then be combined with another programs in IF band. The use of IF/IF processors is the only solution allowing to build an antenna/cable network (SMATV system) that works on frequencies up to 2150 MHz and can provide signal to over 200 subscriber's outlets. The goal can be reached using building broadband amplifiers with 5 - 2150MHz pass band and making the circuit layout similar to CATV installations, but of course working within broader frequency range. More: here. Installation and security notes The converters need the compatible power supply FA-310 R912046. They fit for mounting in MS-011 R91229 frame. They are able to feed LNBs. All the connections needed to complete the mating installation should be done before the power is switched on. It ought to be remembered that 1 power supply is able to feed up to 8 processors. The total current drawn by the set of the processors and LNBs cannot exceed the rated supplier's capacity. Each individual IF/IF converter is equipped with its own gain adjustment.
  • UC-221 - is equipped with one IF input and one IF output (pass-through),
  • UC-222 - is equipped with two IF inputs, without pass-through feature. It is used when uneven number of transponders from one combination polarization-band has to be distributed. The LNB's power feeding is available only through SAT 1 input.

Installation and security notes
The converters are powered from FA-310 R912046 power supply (one FA-310 can supply up to 8 converters). They should be installed on the MS-011 R91229 frame. All connections should be done and verified before switching on the power supply. The converters can provide power to LNBs. The maximum current cannot exceed the capacity of the power supply.
The converters enable the installer to adjust output signal level.

  • UC-221 - is equipped with one IF input and one IF output (loop),
  • UC-222 - is equipped with two IF inputs, no loop output, LNB powering possible only through SAT1 input.
