We have chosen here the most typical solutions that are widely used in practice.
Diagrams shown below are the models that can be practically used and/or developed depending on the creativity of the designer or installer. Clicking on a diagram you'll see its full size and detailed description.
Home DVB-T antenna systems
Antenna system for areas with high signal intensity (up to 20 km from high and medium power DVB-T transmitters) | Antenna system for areas within a 20-40 km distance from the transmitter, with signal distribution to 4 televisions |
Antenna system for areas over 40 km away from the transmitter, with signal distribution to 4 televisions | Antenna system for receiving DVB-T broadcasts from two transmitters |

Antenna systems in multi-family buildings
Multiswitch installations in multi-family buildings require to create designs. The input parameters in the calculations are: network topology, type and number of the multiswitches, the type of cable used (attenuation) and the lengths of its sections.
The designer has to select the system components so that signal levels in all antenna outlets are within the recommended range.
The designer has to select the system components so that signal levels in all antenna outlets are within the recommended range.
To facilitate the design process, TERRA company has made available free of charge program which allows for quick and easy designing of any multiswitch system based TERRA multiswitches. The program enables the installer to get signal levels in different points of the system, taking into account input levels, the number and type of multiswitches and auxiliary equipment, type of coaxial cable and the lengths of its sections.

Below, on the left side we show examples of typical installations based on multiswitches (SMATV systems), most commonly used in apartment buildings. On the right side there are screenshots of the corresponding screenshots from the SatNet program.
Diagrams shown below are models that can be developed depending on the creativity of the designer or installer (and the needs of the users). Clicking on a diagram you'll see it in full size, with detailed description. Each of the diagrams includes the link to the corresponding SatNet file. It is sufficient to install SatNet program and load the file to practically test the features of the program and modify the original design.
The diagrams can be classified in two ways: according to the number of satellites from which the programs are received (1 or 2) and according to the way of distribution of the satellite signals (pass-through or tap concept). Systems with multiswitch taps are more stable and reliable - a failure of one of the multiswitches does not affect the work of others. Therefore, large installations are built only as tap networks.
