TP-Link TL-WR74ND 150 Mbps is a wireless router, integrating router, firewall, and access point. In addition, the device can operate in WISP mode (as wireless client ). This is a very useful feature if the ISP offers internet access via wireless connection. The device has been designed to provide internet connectivity to small and medium businesses, as well as to private users in apartments and one-family homes. TP-Link TL-WR74ND enables the user to build wireless network quickly and easily and to share Internet connection among a number of computers - ensuring additional protection due to built-in firewall.
TP-Link TL-WR743ND provides a set of protection measures:
- turning off the wireless network name (SSID) broadcast so that only stations that have the SSID can be connected
- 64/128/152-bit WEP encryption security, WPA/WPA2 and WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK authentication, TKIP/AES encryption security
TL-WR743ND ensures advanced access control, NAT, and its DHCP server supports static assignment of IP addresses. It is possible to use virtual servers, DMZ, remote managing and logging.
Other functions that improve security:
- access control based on MAC addresses
- filtration of IP addresses, domains, MAC addresses
- support of UPnP, Dynamic DNS, static routing, VPN pass-through
- statistics of the traffic generated by individual computers in the network
- ICMP-FLOOD, UDP-FLOOD, TCP-SYN-FLOOD filters
- blocking of ping requests for WAN and LAN ports
- firmware upgrading
The device allows simultaneous connection with the wireless Internet service provider (WISP) and operation as a regular access point enabling local users to access the WLAN.
